It seems so much intuitive than using dedicated software. I'm still using windows XP, making separate folders and subfolders based on the exercise/event. Guess I have to 'fess up, as a computing luddite. ThumbsPlus 7, and recently Lightroom, which now handles 90% of my work. I might buy the non-trial version at some point.
FOTOSTATION AUTO ROTATE PORTABLE
Lightroom makes a great portable sketchbook on my laptop though. I've tried lightroom on a recent trip and like the interface, but prefer the output from DXo and CS3 (which has Camera Raw 4.1 anyway). Iview at present, but may switch if the updated Xm is pricey If you need something that is fast and easy to use then check this one out. I have begin to even use it to make some minor adjustments on some pics lately, like add a little sharpness to them Rename a whole folder of pics in 1 minute, crop, convert rename, adjust put watermarks rotate resize all in one pass.
FOTOSTATION AUTO ROTATE PLUS
Plus I love how it does batch conversions of all kinds.

Ffrom a thumbnail view you double click the pic it opens full screen you click again and it closes back to the thumbnail, no going to the x in the corner or file/close to close it.
It is a great viewer like Thumbs plus and I love it for the viewing of the pics. PhotoMechanic to Ingest, edit & tag, Picasa to search. I'm sticking with ivmp3 until i see that they've sorted out the issues with xM.īut if you're looking for something to organise your photos you can't go very wrong with ivmp3. IView was brought out by Microsoft last year and although their first version of the program (Expression Media) was a piece of shit people with access to the inside tell us that the upcoming Service Pack is going to kick ass.
FOTOSTATION AUTO ROTATE SOFTWARE
(I think you can still buy it.) Its a great program (has some issues, but still probably) one of the best bits of DAM software out there. Lightroom - I been using it for months now, have read Kelby's book on it and still discover new features every day. Lightroom, I loved it from Beta and now am considering if I actually need to buy Photoshop CS3 or not (I'm thinking the answer is probably no.) Lightroom! I hated it at first, a friend forced me to use it, and well now I do 90%of my work in it. I used this method because I switch between Linux, Windows, Xbox and also end up accessing my private library over FTP when away from home, so no one piece of software is going to work for me plus most of their databases get a little large. "Christchurch", "Model Railway", "Tank Museum" and "Nudist beach". " Caravan Holiday" could contain sub folders like. If I do more than one subject, I'll create a separate folder for each focus, eg. and most of the time my tags come down to what I have in the folder title anyway.
Tried a few others and they either choke, or take too long to index what I've currently got. I'm just organising by folders with date " Tank Museum" for example. At least it's what I use to write IPTC info and cull my shots. IMatch always wants me to put the DVD in the same drive I used to write it. I prefer Thumbs Plus for its off computer archiving, especially its ability to use any DVD drive on the computer. Lightroom wins at the moment because of it can show me my RAW files with adjustments but loses on its archiving. I started with Thumbs Plus on version 5, stayed with it to 7, switched to IMatch because of the categories and more efficient keywording and now use Lightroom. I used apature, but found it ate my memory too much for my liking, so ive swithced to light room, though i wish it had a better way of physical sorting my images like a library of some sort. So, what's everyone using to organize your photos?
